When we pray, it is not so that we can get what we want from God. Rather (But), prayer is a way to connect with Him and realign our hearts with His.

Prayer is one of the most important aspects of our lives as followers of Jesus, and it should not be taken lightly. In this blog post, we will discuss the importance of prayer and how it can benefit us in many ways!

Prayer is not something we should only do at church or during Bible study. It’s something we can do every single day. Like any relationship, if you don’t spend time with that person the relationship will suffer. Prayer is a way for us to spend time with God. It is a way to connect with Him and align our hearts with His.

When we pray, we are inviting God into our lives and asking for His guidance. And if you’re anything like me, I NEED His guidance every day!

praying is:

Prayer is when we talk with God. Jesus is the perfect example for prayer. Prayer can be done anywhere, anytime. Many times we have seen Jesus go up a mountain to pray (Matthew 14:23, Mark 6:46, Luke 6:12, 9:28). Solitary (Luke 5:16), in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36 – 46), and even on the cross Jesus prayed (Luke 23:34, 46). Prayer is a part of life. of Jesus This was so noticeable to the disciples and those around them that they asked Jesus to teach them how to pray (Luke 11:1).

When prayer is talking with God So what should we talk about with God? Many people when they talk to God have a long list of things they want to ask for. Or sometimes our prayers are like reciting the same lines every time. And worst of all, Sometimes we pray We weren't sure if anyone would listen to us or not. Or are we really talking to ourselves?

Indeed, Christian prayer is our relationship with God. Just like when we talk with friends. The more we talk The more we know and become closer to each other, likewise, the more we pray. The closer we develop our relationship with God.

I want us to think about our relationships with those around us. Whether it's family life or with friends if we have communication There's bad talk. It will cause problems with your spouse. We can have trouble understanding our children or argue with our friends. Likewise, if our prayers with God consist of asking and asking and asking, we will never develop a relationship with Him. Communication must be two-way: we must speak with God; And we must listen to Him speak to us as well.

PRAYING LIKE JESUS CHRIST

Praying like Jesus Christ

Jesus was the true example of prayer for every Christian. For three and a half years of service He displayed His relationship with God to His disciples and to all who knew Him through prayer. Every time He prayed, God approved Jesus' prayer, whether it was for healing. Five thousand people were fed, four thousand people were raised, and the dead were raised and many other things that the Bible has recorded. Praying like Jesus does is therefore different from the characteristics of many believers, such as:

1. Shows His authority over nature
Jesus demonstrated His authority over death, disease, famine, and the power of Satan. Every time Jesus prayed, changes were immediate. And He has given this authority to every believer who trusts in Him.

2. Showing His Divinity
He revealed His divinity. By praying godly prayers for His disciples to give them the confidence to follow Him and have confidence in the authority that he has given you.

3. Shows love for others
Jesus was a person who demonstrated love for others in every aspect of his life, including prayer. He cared about His disciples and prayed for them before He was arrested because He knew that there would be many things to face and things that He would have to do for Him. Jesus showed his love for Mary and Martha's family when his brother died. Widow with child in Nain and all people who seek Him.

4. Represents living an obedient life
Praying like Jesus It is an indication of His obedient life. Every time he makes a decision He entrusted this authority to the Father be the decision maker And Jesus responded by being obedient and act accordingly willingly.

5. Represents living a life free from sin.
Jesus represents oneness with God through prayer to be a confirmation His life was sinless and did not require repentance. The nature of God that is His identity is pure, without sin. That is what Jesus had in His life is purity And Jesus' prayer expressed His life without sin.

6. Represents the righteousness of God
It is something that Jesus always expressed in front of the poor, the crippled, the widows, the Pharisees, and all humans. To confirm the righteousness of God in judgment. That everyone must receive if they do not repent.

7. It is a declaration of the Lord's victory over sin and Satan
Jesus expressed prayer. It is an announcement. His victory over the power of sin and death.

Christianity and Prayers

Christianity and prayer go hand in hand and cannot be separated. We all occupy an extremely important position in today's society. We are like the conduit that stands between Jesus Christ and unbelievers. That water will flow out of the source of water, namely Jesus, through a pipe is every Christian to create moisture for the soil and trees, but if the pipe is clogged or its end is not connected to the water source, it will not be of any use. Christians who lack regular prayer His life is like a water pipe with pieces of wood or stones inside blocking the flow of water.

This causes the water to not flow easily, so there is not enough water to influence the plants or soil. As for Christians who don't pray, It is like a water pipe that is not connected to a water source. Therefore there is no water to moisten the ground even though the end This side will be next to the ground or tree. But it cannot have any effect at all. To what is around us:

People who do not give importance to prayer And prayer is only an external place of expression. We're here to let others know that we pray too. But in real life this is not like that. It was probably no different from a water pipe that was laid out for others to see, but inside there was not a single drop of water. Prayer is something that every Christian must focus on.

Who must pray?

Who must pray? It's a very interesting question. Have you ever encountered this situation when someone invited you to pray at a meeting or to thank God on an occasion? or for dinner The thought will immediately follow that there are so many people, why do they have to say my name? Or maybe he's really unlucky and shouldn't be sitting here at all. If that's the case, who needs to pray? Prayer is not an individual responsibility, but it is something every Christian must express to God. Pray regularly in 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

The word pray is a commandment that the Bible gives us. And those who must follow it are everyone who has been born again. From the Spirit of God all Christians are required to pray, no exceptions in any case. Today, if we are His beloved children, we will not reject prayer, both individually and publicly. This type of thing has happened so many times that some churches have taken it as a practice and It is now common practice that after a sermon is preached, church members line up to give There is nothing wrong with a pastor or a preacher who is committed to receiving answers from God through him.

We all can pray for one another. Only those whom God has appointed to be leaders in the church pray for. But many people have the wrong attitude. That is, in private, I refused to pray to God at all. Instead, we aim for others to pray to God.

Prayer is directly related to us and God. It is a matter of relationship that must first show personally that we know Him. If we only ask others to pray for our own needs, We ourselves never pray to God. That shows that we do not know God at all. But we know those who know God. So how can we say we are God's children? Or if we ask for tuition money from our own father who lives in the same house as us, having a friend in our class or a senior who is about to graduate be the one who asks for the money on our behalf, right or wrong? Prayer is each of us personal responsibility with God. And it only begins with us and God.

Correct Attitude in Prayers

The Bible teaches us the correct attitude to pray for our prayers. It will not be a complaint against God and to make prayer pleasing to God.

1. Humble
Prayer should be expressed in a humble attitude of submission to God. More than using our own intelligence, humility is acceptance. Our own weakness is our need for God's help.

2. Focus on God
We should pray to God with a focused posture. By focusing all of your goals on God alone. Prayer should be free from interference by others. And likewise the nature of thought must be directed towards God. There are many people who, while praying, The thought is not on God.

3. Waiting
Sometimes when we pray, Sometimes we have problems with God, but we are worried that God is not answering our prayers. Will God answer prayers or not, slowly or quickly? It is the authority of God. There are many people whose prayers are answered immediately by God, but some who take years to receive an answer from God. So when God has not yet answered our prayers, what must we do next? Patiently waiting and continuing to pray in faith. That God will surely answer our prayers.

4. Thank God
It is an attitude that Christians should always express to God no matter how God answers our prayers. The word thanksgiving must immediately come out of our mouths and minds as the response that God wants for every Christian person Of course, at times we may feel disappointed that God's answers are broken. It's different from what we want.

5. Be committed
It is an expression of our trust in God and a declaration that Only God can help us. Determination is what makes our prayers hot and not boring. It's like a cheap fire. Add more fuel.

Obstacles that prevent prayer from being effective

It is worth noting that our prayers are not as fruitful as we thought or expected us to be. Why? That is a question that makes us examine what our own lives are like. There are hidden sins that we have not yet confessed to God and many other reasons that hinder prayer, such as:

1. Lack of faith
Lack of faith is a major obstacle to prayer. A doubting mind makes prayer lack power. When Peter was walking on the water towards Jesus When you reach the middle of the road Peter sank into the water and cried out loudly to Jesus for help. When Jesus pulled Peter out of the water, He asked Peter, “Why do you wonder?” And it is probably the same sentence that He is asking Christians. Who was praying but deep inside his heart was full of doubts. Therefore, lack of faith prevents the answer from God.

2. Wrong attitude
The wrong attitude is one thing that keeps God from answering prayers. Because they ask for things that are contrary to God's purposes and ask for things that are not necessary for living life.

3. Ways of Life That Are Not in Conformity with the Bible
There are observations from the lives of many Christians that Why is prayer ineffective? Living a life that is inconsistent with the Bible It is a very important obstacle that makes prayer. Lack of power to drive God will not answer prayers. Or surely bless us if today the person praying lives in conflict with His Word?

4. Not truly relying on God
It is a form of prayer that is expressed outwardly, but the mind does not really believe it. It is one of the obstacles that make prayer difficult. The answer is lacking because the person praying has not put their trust in God. Thinking that we have a solution that we can handle. or have anxiety Until I didn't wait for God.

5. minds that lack love
Praying with love is pleasing to God. It is an expression of good wishes. towards others that we can express at any time But it's difficult. For many people to express their love for others through prayer, one reason prayers go unanswered.

Prayer is an intention. It is an inner desire to connect with God. When we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ
