History of the (Ottawa Karen Christian Fellowship Church) (O.K.C.F.C)

I want to share with you about how our Church started in short, and they are as below.

There was a time God gave me the revelation and vision, in my dream “I walked together with my twin brother in a wide open desert. While we are walking something moves within me. And I told my brother “I want to build an altar to the sacristy here. My brother told me that “If God told you to do something for Him, you just do it.” Then I started gathering one stone at a time in that huge open wide desert and placed them at the location where I will build the altar. After I gathered those stones for the altar I told my brother to step back and not stay close to me. Then he walked away to some other place and after he went away I bowed down and faced the ground and prayed. After I prayed I saw fire come down from heaven and burned up all the sacrifices. Then I heard the loud voice from heaven three times saying “I will use you, I will use you, I will use you”. After that I suddenly awakened from my dream, and then I asked God, “What is the meaning of the dream?” From there without planning within a few months, something moves me about Church matters that I need to do. This revelation and vision that God gave is always burning within me and I couldn’t just control it anymore. I just know that I must do something about God’s ministry.

From that time on, I told my revelation and vision to Tharamu Khu Htaw and also Tharamu Thelay Kyi. After that one month and another month went by I started sharing about starting a Church to Tharamu Khu Htaw on June 3rd, 2018 at 6 pm. We talk about many things, especially about the Church. And on June 12th, 2018 at 11:45 am, I again shared my vision with Tharamu Thelay Kyi about starting a Church. Then we all three encouraged one another and agreed on the matter of starting a Church. Then on June 19th, 2018 at 4:30 pm, myself and Tharamu Khu Htaw set a meeting along with Tharamu Wah Wah to help us in any way she could about the place where we will worship. This was the first time that three of us met in Catholic Centre for immigrants, Ottawa. After that we formed up our Gospel team and started giving its name “Dream Ministries”. At the same time we also call it “Ottawa Karen Christian Fellowship Church”. After that we wrote down the vision of our Church and we chose our Church’s motto to do the ministries of the Gospel to base on and that is in 2 Timothy 4:5 says “….do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” On August 26th, 2018 night we started worshiping for the first time with a few families in Pastor Lah Say’s house. Then a week after we move the place of worship to Tharamu Thelay Kyi’s house and then again after a week to Tharamu Khu Htaw’s house. Then to Cody father's house, Elder Klo Say’s house, then again at Pastor Lah Say’s house for two weeks. After that we worship at Elder Klo Say’s house every week because his house was located in the middle from all other directions and it is easier for others to come there. Then on October 14th, 2018 we appointed a committee in our Church. This committee is meant to lead and guide this Church.

All committees of this Church are leaders and Elders of “Ottawa Karen Christian Fellowship Church” (O.K.C.F.C) This committee was chosen and appointed in a meeting on October 3rd, 2018 at 5:00pm - 7:00 pm. From the time we reach out to communities with the Gospel that we did, until we created our Church Logo or seal and everything, including implementing our Church rules and regulations as well as appointing our Church committee, we conclude it on the 18th of October 2018. From there, our Church continues operating smoothly. Within a few months our Pastor received Ordination as a Reverence Pastor or an Ordained Pastor on November 11th, 2018. We surely know that God extended His Grace upon us bountifully.

We continue to work step by step about the place where we will worship in a Church building. I started writing to 13 different Churches to let them know which Church could allow us to use their building to worship, but we did not get any responds. Finally God answered us through St. Basil's Church, we called their Pastor “Father” from Catholicism, he wanted to meet us. Then we went and met with him and everything was agreed between both sides. So we decided to dedicate ourselves and worship at that Church on November 18th, 2018 onward at 1:00pm every week. After 2 years On 2021 the year of the Lord, We found the new Church, the Church name is McPhail Memorial Baptist Church. We are worship at that Church present to now. We knew that God’s Grace is upon us in a special way in our cooperation in His businesses. We believe that God will continue doing His miraculous works among our cooperation in His tasks. To maintain and improve our Church's future situation and daily operation, we need all leaders and every saint in our congregation to work hard in prayers. In this way, revival and growth will be obtained, For “Prayer Changes things” and prayers is a crucial matter that we can operate without, it is the most important and powerful ingenious platform in HIS Church.
